“Poverty, abandonment, and human trafficking all destroy the joy and hope of childhood for millions of children around the world and the United States.  These problems seem so dark and overwhelming it is hard to know where to start or if anyone can really help.

“Doing nothing helps no one.

“I want to impact as many people for good as I can before my time on this earth is done, so I started praying about what I could do.  Everyone has a cause that they are called to help with.   I am passionate about helping children.  I had a wonderful childhood, and when I see the plight of children in pain, in darkness, and helpless, a great sense of injustice rises up in me.  I am blessed to know people or have direct contact with groups and organizations that have ‘feet on the ground’ doing the hands on work for these children.  I want to help these people help the children I cannot directly assist.

“I created a series of paintings to bring attention to these issues and become a source of funding for these groups.  These paintings represent the light of hope and the seeds of the future.   More than illustrating the situation that they are raising funds for, they also speak about the love that God has for each of us.  He sees the light and potential in all of us.  God uses us to help others because it is a way for us to grow spiritually and also to connect us to other people in our communities and around the world.

“Please join with me to support Freedom 418Compassion International, the Midland County Child Welfare Board.  You can help by purchasing the original art pieces I have created, limited edition hand embellished prints, and note cards; or sponsor me directly.  A large percentage of the proceeds will go to one or all of these worthy organizations.

“I am happy to exhibit these paintings and/or come and speak to a group about my art and my cause.  I hope to inspire in people a desire to help, but to also remind them of the love that God has for their own personal situations.  I want to share the stories of hope that these causes are creating.

“’Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.’ (Galatians 6: 9-10)”
